Stamina is the measurement of a person’s sustained, prolonged effort over a period of time. There are two contexts of stamina – cardio stamina and muscle stamina. Cardio stamina is the ability of the heart and the blood to provide adequate amount of oxygen which the body needs to accomplish everyday tasks; while, muscle stamina is the capacity of muscles to meet the demands of physical activities. Essentially, cardio stamina and muscle stamina are interrelated. Lack of cardio strength leads to deficiency of muscle stamina since lack of oxygen in the working muscles reduces their power to act.
